Biography: While some may
consider him a newcomer, Josh Radnor has been preparing for his career
as an actor for quite some time. The Columbus, Ohio, native got his
start in high school theatre after tagging along to an autidion with
a friend and deciding that he could do as well as some of the other
auditioners.
After landing the role of Will
in "Oklahoma," Radnor went on to star as the Master of Ceremonies in
"Cabaret" and became hooked on acting. He joined a local theatre group
and performed in a few more musicals before entering Kenyon College
in Gambier, Ohio, Paul Newman's alma mater. Upon graduation, Radnor
moved to New York City and attended graduate school at NYU's Tisch School
of the Arts.
His first professional job was
at the Manhattan Theatre Club, where he began as an understudy but quickly
earned a feature role. During the next two years, he worked consistently
in regional and off-Broadway theatre. His first television role was
on the series "Welcome to New York." Radnor recently completed an episode
of "Law & Order." His first feature film role was as a tour guide in
the parody film "Not Another Teen Movie."
Besides acting, Radnor's greatest
passions are reading and writing short stories. He is also fascinated
by the world of politics. His father is a trial attorney, and his mother
is a high school guidance counselor.
