Biography: Jaime Lee Kirchner joins
the cast of "Just Legal" as a tough and beautiful former criminal who
is now fulfilling her parole obligation by working as a receptionist in
the low-rent law office of Cooper (Don Johnson) and "Skip" (Jay Baruchel).
The daughter of a military pilot and a teacher, Kirchner was born in Germany
and grew up in Clarksville, Tennessee. She began acting at The Roxy Regional
Theater in Clarksville. She worked with her father on her first theatrical
production, "Camelot," when she was 8-years-old. Multi-talented, Kirchner
also enjoyed gymnastics, dancing, singing and painting, but always favored
acting and performed in over 40 shows at The Roxy. When she was in the
sixth grade, Kirchner was cast to play "Baby June" in "Gypsy" and was
made up to appear white.
Kirchner's first big break came when she was was just 17-years-old and
still in high school. She went to an open-call audition for the musical
"Rent" in Nashville, Tennessee, where she and only one other person were
chosen for callbacks in New York City. After auditioning for "Rent" for
over four years, Kirchner eventually landed the role of Mimi on tour in
the U.S. and Japan last year. She was recently offered the incredible
opportunity to appear in the Broadway production, but has put that on
hold to appear in "Just Legal."
Kirchner is a graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
She has appeared in numerous commercials and videos including dancing
with Beyoncé in her video "Work it Out" for the film "Austin Powers in
Goldmember." Kirchner was recently in the "Bust a Tunic" commercial for
Old Navy. She also worked with Sean "P. Diddy" Combs in "Carlito's Way."
Kirchner enjoys painting, playing racquetball, cooking, reading Dan Brown
novels and watching "Oz" and "Sex and the City" when she's not working.
She is also an advocate of eliminating animal cruelty. She has been living
in New York City, but will relocate to Los Angeles for the filming of
the series. |
